Bryan/College Station Real Estate is on the Rise

Home builders and realtors are seeing an increase in homes being built and sold around the area. Research economist, Dr. Jim Gaines, says, "The housing market has been very good for the last couple of years and it continues to be good on into 2015. Home builders are telling us they are building houses basically as quick as they can." With houses selling left and right home prices are on the rise. "They are going to rise simply because the demand is pretty strong, but the supply is weak. We just don't have enough properties being built or offer for sale to keep that balance" says Dr. Gaines.

In fact, just the opposite has happened. The average rate on the popular 30-year fixed loan is now at its lowest level of the year and could potentially head lower into new record territory.

A record-breaking 3,123 homes were sold in the area in 2014, with an average of 114 days on the market, according to the Bryan-College Station Regional Association of Realtors database. With 1,771 homes sold the past six months at an average of 98 days on the market so far in 2015, another record-breaking year is on the horizon.
